Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to fill the role of Clinical Lead, MHST (Mental Health Support Team) Clinical Lead. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our MHST service, ensuring that we deliver exceptional care and support to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex relationships and system issues in partnership with education and the wider mental health sector.
- Support clinical supervisors in overseeing assessment, formulation, treatment, and management plans for schools, parents, children, and young people supported by the MHSTs using a range of psychological interventions.
- Work in partnership with children, young people, families, and schools to develop goals, plans for intervention, and agreed outcomes.
- Empower children, young people, and families to make informed choices about support.
- Operate from an inclusive values base that recognizes and respects diversity.
- Conduct accurate risk assessments and ensure adherence to best practice guidance.
- Provide information and support to schools for evidence-based psychological treatments, primarily guided self-help.
- Ensure adherence to an agreed activity contract for timely access and minimized waiting times.
- Integrate issues related to transitions, education, and training/employment into the therapeutic process.
- Enhance and widen access to health promotion support in collaboration with children, young people, and communities.
- Provide joint specialist mental health assessments and interventions for children, young people, and families.
- Oversee clinical supervision structures and help the clinical supervisor determine the independence of EMHPs with specific clients and interventions.
- Liaise with education, health, social care, and voluntary sector staff in the care provided to children, young people, and families.
- Represent the trust at system-wide events or deliver external training, managing system working, and promoting the service.
Requirements:
- Candidates should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience in managing complex relationships and system issues.
- A deep understanding of mental health services, particularly those relating to children and young people.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct accurate risk assessments and adhere to best practice guidance.
- A passion for empowering children, young people, and families to make informed choices about support.
- Ability to work effectively in partnership with diverse stakeholders, including education, health, social care, and voluntary sector organizations.
- Strong representation and advocacy skills, with the ability to promote the trust's services at system-wide events.
What We Offer:
- An attractive salary ranging from £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
