We are seeking a highly skilled midwife/obstetric sonographer to join our team at the obstetric ultrasound department/fetal medicine unit at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. Our team provides midwifery, obstetric, and neonatal care to pregnant women and their families living in the Scottish Highlands.
Our department covers a vast rural area of 12,500 square miles, serving approximately 1,800 births annually. Our team of six midwife sonographers performs around 11,000 scans per year, with a high degree of autonomy and a focus on quality-assured services. We participate in peer review and audit to maintain exceptional professional standards.
The successful candidate will be a qualified midwife or hold a relevant degree-level qualification, followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Obstetric Ultrasound. They will be up-to-date in their practice, willing to undertake audit, teaching, and mentorship when required. The post holder will be expected to work independently, producing diagnostic reports that provide accurate clinical findings.
