Obstetric Sonographer Midwife

We are seeking a highly skilled midwife/obstetric sonographer to join our team of midwife sonographers at the obstetric ultrasound department/fetal medicine unit at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
Raigmore Hospital provides comprehensive midwifery, obstetric, and neonatal care to pregnant women and their families living in the Scottish Highlands. Our team of 6 midwife sonographers generates approximately 11,000 scans per year, working independently with a high degree of autonomy.
The sonographers are fully supported by our ultrasound lead and are responsible for performing all obstetric examinations, including MCA PI and UAPI screening for small for gestational age babies. Our main workload includes EPAU, fetal medicine, maternal medicine, twins, and specialist ANC's, using GROW.
We have a range of high-spec ultrasound equipment, including 7 Voluson E10 machines. You will be a qualified midwife or have a relevant degree-level qualification with a PGC minimum in obstetric ultrasound.
You must be up-to-date in your practice, willing to undertake audit, teaching, and mentorship when required. The post holder will be expected to work independently and produce diagnostic reports that provide accurate clinical findings.
This is a full-time post, with part-time hours considered. You will be expected to work collaboratively as part of our team, contributing to a quality-assured service and participating in peer review and audit to maintain high professional standards.

We are committed to reducing our full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. You may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
