Sonographer Midwife

We are seeking a highly skilled midwife/obstetric sonographer to join our team at the obstetric ultrasound department/fetal medicine unit at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. Our team provides midwifery, obstetric, and neonatal care to pregnant women and their families living in the Scottish Highlands.
Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, including 7 Voluson E10 machines. We perform a wide range of obstetric examinations, including MCA PI and UAPI screening for small for gestational age babies. Our workload also includes EPAU, fetal medicine, maternal medicine, twins, and specialist ANC's, including our screening pathway scans and general obstetric growth scans using GROW.
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified midwife or have a relevant degree-level qualification with a PGC minimum in obstetric ultrasound. You must be up-to-date in your practice, willing to undertake audit, teaching, and mentorship when required. The post holder will be expected to work independently and produce diagnostic reports that provide accurate clinical findings.

Please note that our working week is reducing from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. You may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
