Job Description

Essex County Council is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Education Access Coordinator.

As an Education Access Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting children who are receiving alternative education commissioned by the Local Authority.

Your primary responsibilities will include working with providers, families, and settings to monitor and review the attendance and engagement of children accessing alternative education.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to engage with and deal with families and young people who are often facing complex and distressing circumstances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working in the educational field and with relevant experience particularly around school exclusions and alternative provision.

Requirements:

  • Educated to RQF Level 3 (A Level) or equivalent by experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area.
  • Ability to work with multiple partners to support children who are currently unwilling or unable to attend school.
