Social Behavior Change Communication and Gender Transformation Specialist

ROLE PURPOSE:

Save the Children seeks a Social Behavior Change Communication and Gender Transformation Specialist to serve on the upcoming Inclusive and Sustainable Transformation of Agriculture Systems (ISTAS) Program. This program aims to address forest degradation and biodiversity loss caused by shifting cultivation, soil degradation, and climate change. The project will support transforming the low-yielding agriculture system into a sustainable and commercialized system through sustainable intensification and income diversification.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement social behavior change communication strategies to promote sustainable agriculture practices and gender equality.
  • Collaborate with local communities, farmers, and other stakeholders to design and implement inclusive agriculture systems.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify best practices and innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and gender equality.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, work plans, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to project staff and partners.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as agriculture, sociology, gender studies, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in social behavior change communication, agriculture development, or gender equality programming.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful projects that promote sustainable agriculture practices and gender equality.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Fluency in English and local languages.
