James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking experienced individuals to join our innovative Orthopaedic Therapy Team as we expand our services in the brand new Orthopaedic Elective Hub.

The successful candidates will provide delegated treatment and rehabilitation to patients with both elective and traumatic orthopaedic injuries, rotating between our trauma and elective wards and outpatient therapy clinic.

We are looking for positive, proactive candidates who can work flexibly and help us build a strong future for Therapy. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a caseload of patients, providing therapy and rehabilitation following orthopaedic elective and traumatic injury which may impact patients physically and psychologically.

Responsibilities include gathering information from patients and their relatives/carers to understand their social, environmental and living circumstances, and the impact of their injury or surgery on daily activities.

The role also requires supporting flow throughout the hospital with timely assessments and planning discharges as part of each individual patient's recovery journey to prevent delay.

A Degree/Foundation Degree or equivalent knowledge and skills in a similar post is essential for this role. However, applicants without this qualification may still be considered if they have an NVQ III in Health and Social Care or equivalent, and are willing to complete the Foundation Degree as a condition of employment.

Other requirements include numeracy/literacy skills at Level 2 or Grade C at GCSE, experience of working in health and therapy teams/working with people, and clear understanding of therapy role/concepts of therapy and the enabling approach.

Estimated salary: £24,907 - £30,451 per annum (dependent on experience)
