Job Overview

NELFT NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of mental health services in England, with a strong focus on supporting children and young people's emotional wellbeing. We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Professional to join our team as an Education Mental Health Practitioner/Children's Wellbeing Practitioner.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with schools and educational settings to provide expert emotional wellbeing and mental health support to children aged 4-18 years old. As part of our Mental Health Support Team (MHST), you will play a vital role in transforming children and young people's mental health outcomes through the NHS Long-Term Plan.

Main Responsibilities
  • To assess and deliver evidence-based interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
  • To work in partnership with children, young people, and families to develop plans for intervention and agreed outcomes.
  • To undertake accurate assessments of risk to self and others.
  • To escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope or more severe.
  • To provide information and support for evidence-based psychological treatments.
About You

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate professional who has experience in delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness among staff groups.
