We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team at Adecco UK LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance on database creation, monitoring, and maintenance, ensuring database recoverability, integrity, security, availability, and performance.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing and maintaining a large SQL database estate, ensuring high availability using Availability Groups and SQL clustering. Routine database maintenance tasks will include backup/recovery, index tuning, patching, and database monitoring to ensure data accessibility, security, and protection from loss or corruption.

The Database Administrator will work closely with support teams and external suppliers to assist with application upgrades and performance tuning. Experience with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, and PowerShell, as well as knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes, would be desirable.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing analysis and direction for Digital Policing support teams on effective database monitoring, management, and optimization. They will create and maintain up-to-date records of database utilization and provide detailed documentation of database configurations to help drive down capital and expenditure costs of database provision.

The Database Administrator will provide expert advice to all members of the Digital Policing Directorate and suppliers regarding the implications of database software upgrades and coordinate upgrade implementation activities. They will also provide advice and guidance on database security standards, researching and defining those standards, ensuring that all operational procedures adhere to them, and that new developments incorporate them.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. They will be proactive, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
