Junior SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a talented SQL developer to join our client's team in Leeds, UK. As a Junior SQL Database Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the company's SQL environment and contributing to the development of tools used for client and internal planning and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and develop robust and effective systems and processes to improve agent productivity, client deliverables, and insights.
  2. Manage and maintain the SQL environment to ensure maximum business systems uptime.
  3. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  4. Establish and document a continuous improvement and monitoring program in relation to the SQL and database environment.
  5. Participate in code reviews with your line manager and provide feedback and guidance to the business to identify efficiencies that can be gained from analyzing current scripts and stored procedures.
  6. Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution.
  7. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
Requirements
  1. Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server.
  2. Understanding and experience in creating and modifying various database objects, including tables, views, procedures, and functions.
  3. Understanding and hands-on experience of SQL Server administration.
  4. Proficient in T-SQL and advanced T-SQL functions.
  5. Working knowledge of SQL monitoring and management programs.
  6. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  7. Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
  8. The right candidate should have commercial experience within an IT SQL support environment and/or has gained industry-recognized IT support qualifications.
  9. Experience in using the MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.
Desired Skills and Experience
  1. Experience of the full SQL BI Stack SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
  2. Experience of the MS PowerBI suite.
  3. Experience and practical applications of implementing reporting dashboards and other reports either via SSRS or Excel.
  4. Experience in developing web or forms applications using C#.
