Job Description

**Job Title:** Care Support Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Care Support Specialist to join our team at Christ The King Residential Care Homes. As a Care Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Service Users:
    • Assess individual residents' needs and develop personalized care plans in collaboration with senior staff and other stakeholders.
    • Implement and record individual service plans, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with residents' needs.
    • Provide individual support and refer to senior staff when specialist support is required.
    • Support residents in maintaining contact with friends and family through telephone, letter, and visits.
  • Staff Support:
    • Attend work reliably and punctually.
    • Work in partnership with residents, colleagues, support services, families, and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for residents.
    • Participate in staff appraisal programs and manage the delegation of work effectively.
    • Offer team-building sessions and training programs to meet individual needs identified through supervision and staff appraisal.
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Maintain up-to-date records and prepare reports.
    • Develop links with professional and statutory agencies involved with residents.
    • Ensure accurate recording and checking of budgets/finances allocated to you.
    • Adhere to all legal requirements imposed on the service.
    • Ensure the storage, administration, and recording of drugs are in accordance with GP instructions and management policy.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or Care Certificate.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a care setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
