Duties and Responsibilities:

Overview

Harrington Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated Sales Professional to join our team as a Territory Sales Manager.

Job Summary

This role requires the ability to establish, qualify, and create new sales opportunities and networks with potential customers in the Life Sciences industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating sales to meet or exceed goals, developing and owning customer accounts, and maintaining contact and follow-up with customer accounts to ensure their requirements are understood and met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Performance: Establish, qualify, and create new sales opportunities and networks with potential customers (approximately 80% of the job) to generate sales and meet or exceed goals.
  • Customer Development: Develop and own customer accounts and customers within your territory, ensuring that their requirements are understood and met.
  • Communication and Relationship Building: Maintain contact and follow-up with customer accounts to ensure that their requirements are understood and met, and to build strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Monitor targets and forecast sales within the territory, and manage any gaps against target and expected performance.
  • CRM Management: Correctly update the sales pipeline and Dynamics CRM as necessary.
  • Market Insight: Initiate and provide insight into market developments.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Educational Background: A degree in a Life Sciences subject (Molecular Biology or similar).
  • Practical Experience: Practical laboratory experience, ideally with sample storage understanding.
  • Travel and Logistics: A full driving license and willingness to travel 4 days a week across your territory, once customer visits can resume.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to work and carry out professional video calls and demonstrations.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to stay away overnight occasionally for sales meetings or exhibitions.
  • Perspectives: Evidence of being an enthusiastic self-starter who is results-focused, self-motivated, passionate, and tenacious in character.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Highly organized, good presentation skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Negotiation Skills: High level of negotiation skills and motivation to accomplish individual sales targets.
Desirable Qualifications

The following qualifications are desirable but not essential:

  • Experience: Experience in consumable sales activities within the Life Science field, with a track record of sales success.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of customers and accounts in the territory.

Estimated salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
