About the Role

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Allied Health Professional/Nurse to lead the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit as part of the Stroke Department within the Medicine Care Group. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance inpatient care and discharge from hospital of patients undergoing rehabilitation following a stroke.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the rehabilitation beds on the stroke rehabilitation unit, including admission, discharge, and patient care.
  • Be responsible for a defined caseload of patients and work across the entire stroke pathway to facilitate the development of a coordinated service for patients with stroke.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with external partners to optimize transitions of care.
  • Be accountable for the delivery of stroke rehabilitation.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a passion for holistic, multidisciplinary care and rehabilitation of patients who have experienced a stroke. They will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
