About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Functional Assessor to join our team at Advo Health. As a Functional Assessor, you will play a crucial role in the functional and disability assessments process, working with individuals who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).

You will work autonomously to assess cases, holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise and make a real difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Holding telephone, video or in-person consultations with individuals who are applying for PIP or WCA.
  • Assessing a variety of complex conditions and impairments.
  • Using your strong verbal communication skills and write high-quality, fair and accurate assessment reports using a special IT system.
  • Working with your line manager to advance your own professional development and career as a Functional Assessor.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 months post-registration experience working as a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
  • You must hold full registration with one of the following professional bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
