Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom Advo Health Full time

We are seeking a motivated Healthcare Professional to join our team as a Functional Assessor. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a crucial role in the functional and disability assessments process, a service that touches the lives of millions of people in the UK.

You will work autonomously to assess the cases of individuals who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). This will involve holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports.

With more than 10 years of experience delivering government assessment services and a commitment to professional development and training, we are an established provider and one of the best places to work as an assessor in the UK.

About this role

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience working as a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist and hold full registration with one of the following professional bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Our goal is for Advo Health to be a workplace that creates a sense of belonging for everyone. We actively promote equal opportunities across all that we do, including when we recruit new talent.

We take our safeguarding responsibilities seriously, working to promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk of harm. Your role will require you to work collaboratively to safeguard these vulnerable groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Holding telephone, video, or in-person consultations with individuals applying for PIP or WCA.
  • Assessing complex conditions and impairments using your strong verbal communication skills and writing high-quality, fair, and accurate assessment reports using a special IT system.

Benefits and Salary

We offer a competitive salary range of £39,500 to £46,300 per annum, annual salary reviews, and a comprehensive benefits package, including cost-free professional membership, hybrid/remote working patterns, 25 days' annual leave, company sick-pay, flexible/part-time working options, DWP-approved training and support programme, discounts, and other perks.
