Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized General Surgery Booking Clerk to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy department, working closely with medical secretaries, clinicians, and management team to ensure patients receive the best possible care.

The General Surgery service operates from 8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, and the successful candidate will be required to work within these hours.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for booking outpatient appointments, managing waiting lists, and assisting with patient queries.

They will also be required to have excellent customer care skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Good standard of general education to GCSE Standard, English & Maths Grade C
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent experience
  • Administrative experience
  • Competent using Word Office
  • Awareness of National Patient Access targets
  • Knowledge of Patient Centre or similar systems
