About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary school in the Newport area. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to children with Special Educational Needs / SEN, working closely with the teaching staff to ensure individualized attention and care.

The ideal candidate will have a resilient approach and the ability to incorporate differentiation into their practice. They will also have excellent listening and observation skills, being able to understand the needs of each pupil.

This is a temporary, long-term role with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate. The estimated salary for this position is around £28,000 - £38,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To provide one-to-one support to pupils with Special Educational Needs / SEN.
  2. To assist with lesson planning and preparation.
  3. To maintain accurate records of pupil progress and attendance.
  4. To contribute to a safe and engaging learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs / SEN.
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing situations.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of pupils and staff.
