Tenure Track Faculty

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Clinical Faculty member to join our Nursing Department at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the development of clinical skills, critical thinking, and clinical judgment.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate student learning and development of clinical skills in a variety of settings, including acute care and community health.
- Perform summative evaluations to assess student outcomes and competencies.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to ensure excellence in instruction.
- Develop and implement curriculum and instructional materials to support student learning.
- Assess and evaluate student progress toward established learning outcomes.
- Document student learning and interpret outcomes to inform instruction.
- Provide academic assistance and advisement to students.
- Assist with student recruitment, admission, and retention efforts.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation of student, instructor, course, and clinical program information.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, and clinical agency staff.
- Model professional, evidence-based nursing practices that are sensitive to diverse and multicultural considerations.
- Participate in University service and events.
- Earned doctorate (DNP, DNS, PhD, etc.) with specialization in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse or multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia.
- Minimum of five years of experience in nursing practice and teaching, with evidence of professional competence.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in nursing disciplines, including fundamentals, community health, women's health, pediatric, medical/surgical, or mental health.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively engage with students and ensure excellence in instruction.
- Ability to identify and apply assessment tools and methods to determine if learning outcomes are achieved.
- Post-secondary teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in clinical environments and virtual simulation learning platforms.
- Experience in medical/surgical nursing, mental health, pediatric, or women's health.
- Proficiency with computer applications for instructional purposes and clinical documentation.
- Knowledge of higher education accreditation.
