Job Title: Experienced Research and Development Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Research and Development Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for managing and working on multiple development projects, collaborating with our manufacturing team to improve current and research new machining processes, and identifying possible grant funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage multiple development projects from concept to implementation.
  2. Facilitate the manufacture of parts/components, etc.
  3. Liaise with manufacturing to improve current and research new machining processes.
  4. Manage multiple development partners.
  5. Identify possible grant funding opportunities.
  6. Oversee our Component Testing Program (Wear, Corrosion & Toughness).
  7. Provide technical support to our Sales Team and Customers.
  8. Write up all work instructions and quality control procedures relating to new processes/products.
  9. Draft R&D Tax Narratives relating to own and others' R&D Projects.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Desirable Experience:

  1. Previous experience developing new products and processes from concept through to implementation.
  2. 2 years experience as a development engineer within a research and development department.
  3. 2 years experience working as a production engineer with direct responsibility for managing projects to establish efficiency gains.
  4. Experience preparing and delivering presentations/training programs.

Knowledge:

Essential:

  1. Mechanical Engineering Principles and Theories.

Desirable:

  1. Physical/Chemical Vapour Deposition.
  2. Metallurgical Experience.
  3. Computer-aided design technology literate.
  4. Tablet tooling equipment and manufacturing process including terminology employed in technical drawings.

Skills:

Desirable:

  1. Project Management Skills.

Essential:

  2. Achieving Results - able to meet deadlines/output requirements whilst maintaining high quality of work through attention to detail.
