Job Title: Experienced Research and Development Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Research and Development Engineer to join our team at 2M Employment Solutions Limited. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for managing and working on multiple development projects, collaborating with manufacturing to improve current and research new machining processes, and providing technical support to our Sales Team and Customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with manufacturing to improve current and research new machining processes
  • Manage multiple development partners
  • Be responsible for our Component Testing Program (Wear, Corrosion & Toughness)
  • Provide technical support to our Sales Team and Customers
  • Write up all work instructions and quality control procedures relating to new processes/products
  • Draft R&D Tax Narratives relating to own and others' R&D Projects

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience developing new products and processes from concept through to implementation
  • 2 years experience working as a development engineer within a research and development department
  • 2 years experience working as a production engineer with direct responsibility for managing projects to establish efficiency gains
  • Experience of preparing and delivering presentations/training programs

  • Effective communication - able to employ the most effective medium (telephone, e-mail or face-to-face).
  • Planning & organising - formulates plans following analytical decision making, prioritises workload and sets realistic timeframes and measures own progress.
