About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Powertrain Products team at Forseven. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for the creation, management, and development of a high-performing engineering team delivering vehicle programs within a matrix organization.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electric powertrains, with experience in managing external engineering service providers and contract staff. You will be responsible for ensuring tools and processes are suitable and best fit for the engineering function, while ensuring consistency across the full engineering department.

You will work closely with delivery managers to allocate engineers to different programs (vehicle and R&D) to deliver on company goals. Additionally, you will champion the DFMEA process to ensure that the proposed approach provides suitable coverage for the technologies and risks associated with the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership of the technical capability of a particular function of the engineering department.
  • Management of external Engineering Service Providers and contract staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring tools and processes are suitable and best fit for the engineering function.
  • Technical specialist in the appropriate functional discipline.
  • Working alongside delivery managers to allocate engineers to different programs.
  • Champion the DFMEA process.
Requirements
  • Significant experience of Electric Powertrains (Battery to Driveshaft) within an automotive engineering environment.
  • Proven track record of building, maintaining, and motivating high-performing engineering teams.
  • Finance experience with respect to managing CAPEX, recruitment, and operational costs within an engineering organization.
  • Demonstrable understanding of electric powertrain architectures and underlying principles and technologies.
  • Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework.
