Job Title: Powertrain and Chassis Domain Engineer – Electrical SystemsAbout the Role

Gordon Murray Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team as a Powertrain and Chassis Domain Engineer – Electrical Systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development and integration of electrical systems for our ultra-exclusive cars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate electrical systems for the Chassis and Powertrain function groups, ensuring seamless integration with the overall vehicle electrical architecture.
  • Design electrical systems for distributed functions, signal database requirements, and interaction with UI systems related to Chassis and Powertrain.
  • Manage supplier technical deliverables, project plans, and open issues decks for assigned systems.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, certification, environmental, and EMC requirements.
  • Collaborate with testing and validation colleagues to develop and test electrical systems.
  • Manage software features and functions delivery against systems designs with technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Prepare SFMEA documents covering assigned systems.
  • Participate in system review, verification, and validation activities, including FMEAs, DVP planning, ISO26262 functional safety, EMC, and other tests throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Significant relevant experience of electrical systems or component delivery within an automotive engineering environment.
  • Demonstrable understanding of electrical architectures and underlying network and diagnostic technologies.
  • Experience of project engineering with Tier 1 suppliers, preparation of project documentation and reports.
  • Working knowledge of CAN, LIN networks, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework.
  • Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work well on own initiative.
  • Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive, or similar honours engineering degree.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
