Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cluster Financial Controller to join our team at Middle Eight. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading and managing the financial operations of our hotel properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the financial operations of two hotel properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations, to senior management and owners.
  • Reconcile daily revenue sheets to banking and identify any discrepancies, addressing them with relevant departments.
  • Prepare weekly revenue sheets for distribution to relevant personnel and stakeholders.
  • Assist with monthly payroll administration and control and prepare weekly cost management reports.
  • Ensure accurate posting of invoices, receipts, and BACS payments to the accounting system.
  • Undertake sales ledger end-of-month procedures, sending statements to debtors and producing reports as required.
  • Check travel agent commission claims and resolve any queries with the agent concerned.
  • Post purchase invoices to the accounting system in a timely manner and ensure approval procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for all supplier payments twice a month.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports as requested and ensure accuracy of all nominal accounts sent by senior management on a monthly basis.

Requirements:

  • A structured approach to business planning and management.
  • Knowledge of IT systems that support financial and hotel objectives.
  • Precise analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing both concisely and logically.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge, including complex spreadsheets.
  • Experience in empowering a team to successfully meet expectations.
  • Results-focused with an overwhelming desire to succeed.
  • Previous experience in hotels is preferred.
