Learning Support Assistant

We are a highly successful community all-age special school providing high-quality education for students with severe and complex learning difficulties, including autism.
Our school offers a tailored education program catering to individual needs through Education Health Care Planning. Our dedicated staff team strives to maximize each student's potential, ensuring personalized support and guidance across the curriculum.
The ideal candidate will be a good team player with a desire to learn and develop new skills. Experience working with children with additional needs is beneficial but not essential. The ability to work flexibly with all ages is required.
This role involves supporting literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills development, attending to personal care needs, promoting positive student behavior, and participating in planning and evaluation of learning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills development
- Attending to personal care needs following each student's Care Plan
- Promoting positive student behavior and keeping students on task
- Participating in planning and evaluation of learning activities
- Monitoring and recording student responses and achievements
- Assisting in implementing educational and care programs
- Selecting and maintaining appropriate resources and specialist equipment
- Liaising with staff and other professionals to provide necessary student information
- Supervising students during breaks and educational visits
Salary: £18,600 - £20,800 per annum (dependent on experience)
