Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Superintendent to join our marine client based in Aberdeen.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting DP Assurance oversight and supervision of the dedicated fleet reporting into the Manager, Electrical & DP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and oversee the DP status of all assigned vessels.
  • Review and ensure DP FMEA's, DP FMEA proving / verification trials, Annual DP trials, DP Operations Manual and other company DP Documentation are aligned with industry guidelines and statutory regulations.
  • Collaborate with the drydocking project team to ensure necessary DP maintenance and update of DP FMEA documentation to latest industry guidelines and applicable classification requirement are conducted as part of the 5Y docking cycle.
  • Review, or directly contribute to improving, working practices for DP operations and assurance by conducting assigned vessel reviews and gap analysis.
  • Trouble shoot and supports Geo-market FMEA's, or annual trials as required.
  • Support vessels and Geo-markets with fault finding and resolution of DP related issues.
  • Support tracking DP equipment obsolescence and consult with the Technical Committee, relevant Geo-market technical managers / project teams on the solutions with fair financial control and assured reliability.
  • Assist to manage and control fleet DP spares located globally, for effective obsolescence management and to reduce vessel downtime in the event of failure.
  • Assist DP Incident reporting – review and finalise DP Investigation reports, as assigned, and consult with the relevant Geo-market managers on findings and close out requirements.
  • Support the geo-market offices with OVMSA audits and OVID inspections, in terms of DP Operations.
  • Assist implementation of critical spares for DP systems onboard company vessels.
  • Support and implement maintenance regimes for DP systems onboard company vessels.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
