Senior Practitioner/AMHP

We are seeking an experienced social worker to provide social work leadership in our Community Mental Health Team. As a Senior Practitioner/AMHP, you will work closely with service users with serious and enduring mental illness, including dementia, to promote social inclusion and recovery.
You will have a focus on helping people to live as independently as possible, working closely with Consultant Psychiatrists, Community Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and STR workers. Your style and approach will reflect our values and behaviors, including a commitment to continually learning and improving, valuing and respecting others' contributions, and taking ownership of your actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide social work leadership in the team, maintaining close links with colleagues in Adult Social Care.
- Provide clinical supervision to social workers, helping them identify opportunities to develop and direct them towards relevant learning resources.
- Manage a limited caseload of complex cases, act as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) working on our Borough-wide rota, and provide guidance in relation to the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Contribute to service development to ensure that social work values are fully represented and where appropriate, chair meetings, particularly in relation to safeguarding enquiries.
