About the Role

We are seeking an experienced social worker to provide social work leadership in our Community Mental Health Team. As a Senior Practitioner/AMHP, you will work closely with service users with serious and enduring mental illness, who may also have substance misuse problems, Autism, Asperger's or mild to moderate Learning Disability. Your focus will be on social inclusion and recovery, helping people to live as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision to social workers, helping them identify opportunities to develop and direct them towards relevant learning resources.
  • Manage a limited caseload of complex cases, acting as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) on our Borough-wide rota.
  • Provide guidance on the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Contribute to service development to ensure that social work values are fully represented and chair meetings, particularly in relation to safeguarding enquiries.
