Job Title: Financial Controller

Take the reins of the financial department as a Financial Controller. Leverage your expertise in accounting and finance to drive growth and ensure compliance within a dynamic, family-run business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the company's financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate financial documents, regulatory compliance, and overall financial health.
  • Shape the company's financial strategy and processes.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts and manage audits and UK Corporation Tax returns.
  • Produce quarterly management accounts with analysis and commentary.
  • Prepare annual R&D tax claims, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Maintain the fixed assets register and verify accounts payable.
  • Reconcile the balance sheet and manage general ledger accruals and prepayments.
  • Provide information for company insurances and submit government statistical surveys.
  • Liaise with Companies House and support external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and offer financial advice to the Board.
  • Provide financial data for strategic decisions and collaborate on cost control.
  • Assist the Finance Director and oversee a small finance team.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Degree-level education preferred
  • Experience with VAT and Corporation Tax reporting
  • Proficient in SAGE Accounting Software and MS Excel
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • High integrity, dependability, and results-oriented
