SEMH Teacher (Primary) – Alternative Provision

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join our team in an Alternative Provision setting. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.


The provision is a supportive and nurturing environment that provides tailored educational opportunities for Primary and Secondary aged students who require a different approach to learning. Our aim is to help each student reach their full potential, both academically and personally, by offering a bespoke curriculum and holistic support.

The Role:


As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the needs and abilities of each student.
  • Develop positive, trusting relationships with students to support their social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Implement behavior management to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

About You:

  • Must be a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students in an alternative provision setting.
  • Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people with complex needs.
  • Be able to inspire and motivate students who may have experienced barriers to learning.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
