Randstad Care is currently working with a leading education provider in the North East who provide exceptional educational experiences to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We seek a compassionate Support Worker to provide individualised support to students with learning disabilities and complex communication needs in an education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with learning disabilities and complex communication needs.
  • Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure students receive tailored support.
  • Support the development of social skills, independence, and academic abilities in students.
  • Collaborate with professionals to ensure holistic student development and progress.
  • Facilitate a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being.
  • Assist with personal care needs as required, ensuring students receive dignified and respectful support.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in education or care settings.
  • Understanding of SEND best practices and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor, essential for working with students who may present challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to impart knowledge and interests to engage students and support a nurturing environment.
