Education Support Assistant Opportunity

A prestigious Further Education College in Ballymena is seeking an experienced learning support professional to provide temporary support on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to learners in a classroom setting
  • Understand and address barriers to learning
  • Deliver study skills training in an educational environment
  • Make reasonable adjustments to support students with disabilities
  • Organize drop-in sessions for learners to discuss specific issues
  • Prepare progress reports on students

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 12 months' experience working with young people or adults in a Further Education and/or Higher Education environment
  • Recent experience of supporting individuals with disabilities and/or additional barriers to learning
  • Ability to travel between campuses

Essential Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in an appropriate subject
  • GCSE English Language (Grade A-C) or Essential Skills Level 2 or higher in Communication
  • GCSE Maths (Grades A-C) or Essential Skills Level 2 or higher in Application of Number
