Education Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Classroom Assistant to join our team at the Education Authority. As a Classroom Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons to children with special educational needs
- Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans
- Provide one-to-one support to children with special educational needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement strategies to support children with special educational needs
- Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Hold a minimum of a Level 2 childcare qualification as approved by the Education Authority
- Have a minimum of two years' experience working with children with special educational needs
- Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of information technology systems, including Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Be able to work flexibly and creatively to support the learning and development of children with special educational needs
- Be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Have a minimum of two years' experience working with children with special educational needs and hold a recognized qualification in Maths and English
