About the Role

GKN Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Officer to join our Integrated Programme Team (IPT) in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. As a key member of the IPT, you will provide commercial expertise and support to top-tier Aerospace clients, ensuring the management and resolution of commercial issues on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with IPT and customers to highlight contractual obligations and limits to obligations.
  • Support new bidding activity, including compilation of business models and commercial proposals.
  • Manage and maintain the company order book to reflect customer purchase order requirements.
  • Ensure commercial/contractual correspondence files are maintained.
  • Maintain key performance metrics and contribute to internal reporting requirements.
  • Support change negotiations with customers.
  • Minimize overdue debt and ensure customers pay in accordance with agreed payment terms.
  • Support Project/Program Review structure, reports, and data.
  • Review Customer MRP and conclude on demand changes, checking against contractual conditions and updating demand as part of MPS.
  • Manage opportunities to improve the business case.

Requirements

  • Business and/or Finance qualification with demonstrable experience in the workplace.
  • Commercially savvy with a good understanding of key financial principles.
  • Strong communicator with highly developed negotiating skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (VLookups, Pivot tables, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (World CC/IACCM) and previous experience in a similar role within the Aerospace/Defence Manufacturing Industry (or similar) are desirable.
