About the Role
GKN Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Officer to join our Integrated Programme Team (IPT) in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. As a key member of our team, you will provide commercial expertise and support to top-tier Aerospace clients, ensuring the management and resolution of commercial issues on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface with IPT and customers to highlight contractual obligations and limits to obligations.
- Support new bidding activity, including business model compilation and Commercial proposal development.
- Manage and maintain the company order book to reflect customer purchase order requirements.
- Ensure commercial/contractual correspondence files are maintained.
- Contribute to internal reporting requirements and maintain key performance metrics.
- Support change negotiations with Customers.
- Minimize overdue debt and ensure customers pay in accordance with agreed payment terms.
- Support Project/Program Review structure, reports, and data.
- Review Customer MRP and conclude on demand changes, checking against contractual conditions and updating demand as part of MPS.
- Identify opportunities to improve the business case.
Requirements
- Business and/or Finance qualification with demonstrable experience in the workplace.
- Commercially savvy with a good understanding of key financial principles.
- Strong communicator with highly developed negotiating skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (VLookups, Pivot tables, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Relevant qualifications (World CC/IACCM) or previous experience in a similar role within the Aerospace/Defence Manufacturing Industry (or similar) are desirable.
