Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Therapist to join our multidisciplinary Learning Disability CAMH service (LD CAMHS). As a key member of our team, you will work closely with families, special schools, and respite units to improve the quality of life for children and their families.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with learning disabilities/adults with learning disabilities, as well as a strong background in complex clinical assessments and interventions. You will also have postgraduate experience/training and skills in supervision, including the supervision of doctoral trainees.
The role involves providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy, using complex psychological data gained from various sources. You will communicate assessment results, formulations, outcome data, and other complex information to support multi-disciplinary colleagues.
We offer excellent opportunities for Continual Professional Development and regular clinical supervision by the Lead Clinical Psychologist. Our team sits within the new Learning Disability and Autism directorate, with strong links to the large psychological services group in Rise (Coventry and Warwickshire emotional wellbeing service).
This is an exciting time to be working in learning disability services within the framework of Transforming Care for children. The job requires travel across the Trust, so car owner/driver or suitable alternative transport arrangements will be required.
About the Role:
- Provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy to children with learning disabilities/adults with learning disabilities
- Communicate complex information to support multi-disciplinary colleagues
- Offer specialist psychological advice, guidance, consultation, and supervision to other professionals
- Contribute to the development of Learning Disability services, reviewing service outcomes, designing audits, research, and clinical governance initiatives
- Supervise assistant psychologists, volunteers, and other colleagues as required
