Museum Security Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at a renowned London museum. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the museum, its visitors, staff, and collection.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional and proactive security service to maintain a safe and secure environment within the museum estate.
  • Conduct regular patrols, search bags, and guard areas to prevent and detect security breaches.
  • Respond rapidly and effectively to incidents and emergency situations, using your knowledge of security principles and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors, answering questions and providing information and directions.
  • Maintain high levels of security and safety standards, making decisions under pressure and communicating effectively with colleagues and visitors.

Requirements:

  • SIA Door Supervisor licence is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles and experience in applying them.
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Regulations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and punctuality skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
