Job Overview:

We are seeking a Medical Trainee to join our team at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious doctor to take on a fixed-term placement in a uniquely configured NHS Trust.

As a Medical Trainee, you will participate in the relevant duty rota and undertake psychiatric assessments and reviews of patients referred to respective services under direct and indirect consultant or senior psychiatrist's supervision.

You will provide appropriate clinical cover in cases of emergency or urgent clinical need and support a seamless service and continuity of care, especially with the community mental health services.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the relevant duty rota as detailed in the section out-of-hours cover arrangements.
  • Undertake psychiatric assessments and reviews of patients referred to respective services under direct and indirect consultant or senior psychiatrist's supervision.
  • Provide appropriate clinical cover in cases of emergency or urgent clinical need.
  • Support a seamless service and continuity of care, especially with the community mental health services.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and either have completed a UKFPO-affiliated foundation programme or have 12 months experience after full GMC registration or equivalent.

A strong ability to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement to problems, prioritise clinical need, maximise safety, and minimise risk is essential.

You should also be eligible to work in the UK and hold an Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent by the intended start date.

Salary:

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
