About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Associate Director to lead our Evaluation and Insights team at Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping our approach to evaluation and insights, ensuring that we can understand the impact of our work, influence action, and share best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a defined set of evaluation and insights activities to have real impact on health and healthcare by supporting our partnership to gather insights on how and why solutions are successful, articulate impact, and understand what innovation to scale.
  • Collaborate with our wider integrated care, health innovation, and research systems to design and deliver evaluation and insight activity and implementation strategy.
  • Lead the delivery and growth of a pipeline of evaluation and insights activity, securing funding from a range of funders, and collaborating with our diverse and multi-disciplinary stakeholder communities.
  • Lead and oversee the team growth and delivery activity to enhance the insights tools and approaches, ensuring they meet the needs of the organisation and evolving these over time.
  • Work closely with our discovery, development, and deployment teams to demonstrate impact of our work.
  • Work closely with our teams to ensure meaningful patient and public involvement and community engagement is embedded in our evaluation methods and processes.
  • Advocate the appropriate use of data and insight to drive improvement and innovation.
  • Lead on the delivery of business development activity relating to our evaluation and insights function.

Requirements
  • Experience in undertaking and/or commissioning a wide range of research methods, including rigorous quantitative and qualitative techniques.
  • Experience of successfully applying for a range of evaluation and research grants and developing collaborative evaluation and insights projects with other organisations.
  • Experience of managing and supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of data insight, architecture, analysis, research, and governance best-practice, methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, highly developed motivational, influencing, and negotiating skills with proven experience of success at senior levels of organisations and across organisations.
