Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated insights professional to join the Stakeholder Engagement & Insights Team within the Remediation Policy Directorate, part of the Safer Greener Buildings Group at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government in a newly created role. We are a small and friendly team, looking for an enthusiastic team player who will work collaboratively with wider departmental colleagues.

The Stakeholder Engagement & Insights Team leads on creating evidence-based engagement strategies that inform, influence and respond to our external stakeholders across the built environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Map out current stakeholder insights being gathered by the Remediation Policy Directorate and identify needs and gaps with senior leaders, commissioning insights projects where required.
  • Commission and carry out a range of quantitative and qualitative projects across a range of policy areas within the Remediation Policy Directorate and Safer Greener Buildings Group.
  • Provide advice, best practice and hands-on support to stakeholder engagement and policy counterparts across the portfolio and group on carrying out insights and analysis work, including surveys, consultations, roundtables, desk research, attitudinal/focus group activity.
  • Become the go-to point for existing insights, creating a bank of insights for the Division, including collating relevant insights from across the Ministry, HMG and external sources.
  • Proactively identify new insight topics that will enhance the objectives of the Remediation Policy Directorate, keeping the team abreast of relevant industry priorities and social trends.
  • Work collaboratively with the Engagement Function's Residents' Team to ensure that resident insights are captured effectively and themes shared.
  • Regularly raise awareness of key insights across the Directorate in a relevant and targeted way.
Requirements
  • Experience in research project management.
  • Experience and understanding in a range of research techniques and methodologies, such as evaluation, qualitative and quantitative methods and surveys.
  • Experience in customer insight and audience targeting approaches.
  • Experience of using low-cost/no-cost approaches for research and evaluation, while maintaining quality.
  • Ability to identify underlying insights from complex data and draw evidence-based conclusions and recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Proficient at ad-hoc desk research.
  • Ability to work under pressure, at pace and prioritize and project manage several tasks at once, meeting deadlines and managing expectations.
