About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our First Point of Contact Centre (FPCC) team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. The FPCC is a priority one urgent response telephone service that provides the first stage in the Trust's care navigation system.

As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing and triaging mental health referrals, collaborating with other agencies, and providing support to patients and their carers. You will work in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mental health policies and guidelines, as well as experience in collaborative working with other agencies. You will be a skilled communicator, able to engage with service users and carers, and have a good understanding of the range of services offered within the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage mental health referrals and direct them to the most appropriate service
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies to provide support to patients and their carers
  • Provide information and guidance to service users and carers
  • Contribute to the development of the FPCC team and services
