Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to work within our Adult Community Mental Health Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to adults with varying levels of mental health needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to improve the experience for individuals with mental health needs through offering early assessment and access to treatment and support to promote mental health and well-being within primary care.
About the Role- As a Mental Health Specialist Practitioner, you will work autonomously in providing high-volume assessment, diagnosis, and treatment appointments, advice, and support for GPs in caring for other patients with mental health issues.
- You will take the lead in ensuring best practice is delivered across your allocated GP surgeries, working seamlessly with the Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust team.
- Embedded in one of five Primary Care Networks (PCNs), you will navigate, liaise with, and refer onto mental health services, voluntary and public sector agencies, and community support groups.
- You will provide specialist advice, supervision, and support to practice colleagues in relation to patients with mental health issues, identifying those potentially at risk of relapse to support their continued well-being and reduce their impact on the Health and Wellbeing service as a whole.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-professional primary care team. You will have a strong understanding of mental health issues and the ability to navigate complex systems to provide effective support to patients.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you will be able to demonstrate leadership skills, with the ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
We offer a competitive salary of £42,000 - £48,000 per annum, dependent on experience, along with a range of benefits including a contributory pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
