Job Title: Senior Finance Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and timely budgets, plans, and forecasts to support business decision-making.
  • Ensure month-end processing adheres to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and provides expert advice on financial matters.
  • Prepare and present audit reconciliations to both external and internal auditors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Set up new business activities in SAP for accurate financial reporting and analysis.
  • Analyse variances against budget forecasts and explain reasons for deviations.
  • Conduct budget holder reviews to ensure understanding of expenditures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, suggesting counter-measures to mitigate financial risks.
  • Communicate risks or deviations to senior management and finance teams, ensuring timely action is taken.
  • Coordinate local planning, reforecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure alignment with business targets.
  • Develop and manage inputs from customers to inform financial planning and analysis.
  • Align to business targets and challenge areas to realise opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Provide expertise for business decisions, ensuring data quality and highlighting conflicts or inconsistencies.
  • Support functions with scenario modelling and evaluation of outputs to inform financial planning and analysis.
  • Propose alternative solutions based on knowledge and experience to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Authorise expenditure within budget in line with company policy and legislation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support budgetary management and control, identifying and resolving risks and opportunities to ensure financial stability.
  • Educate budget holders on process adherence for efficiency and ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
  • Record financial transactions in SAP, including accruals and prepayments, to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting processes and business impact.
  • Demonstrable experience in a finance environment, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in Datamodelling and business analysis to support decision-making.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel and enterprise resource planning systems like SAP.
  • Experience with business planning tools such as Cognos.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex information to various audiences.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across functions.
  • Degree in Finance or a related field, along with a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA) or equivalent (MBA).
