About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As an integral member of our Police Mental Health Joint Response Car (PMHJRC), you will work closely with Cambridgeshire Constabulary officers to provide an immediate response to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' mental state and risk, determining whether they are safe to be managed in the community.
  • Initiate plans for ongoing care, working collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to officers on scene, ensuring effective crisis management.
  • Liaise with local health and social care providers, developing strong relationships to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Stay up-to-date with local mental health pathways, services, and legislation, including the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
Requirements
  • NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration experience working with individuals in mental health crisis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
