About the Role

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Police Mental Health Joint Response Car (PMHJRC) team.

As an Advanced Mental Health Practitioner, you will work closely with Cambridgeshire Constabulary officers to provide an immediate response to people in the community experiencing a mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' mental state and risk, determining whether they are safe to be managed in the community.
  • Initiate plans for ongoing care, working closely with operational and professional leads.
  • Provide patient-focused care, improving the patient experience.
  • Liaise with other health and social care providers, having good knowledge of local mental health pathways and services.
  • Offer advice, support, and guidance to CC officers on scene at mental health jobs.

Requirements

NMC or HCPC registration, evidence of continued professional development, and a full UK driving licence are essential. A Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification and experience working with brief psychological interventions/strategies for managing a crisis are desirable.
