MacKenzie King is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Customer Service Representative / Accounts Assistant for our family-run haulage company based in Ipswich.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, a personable and professional demeanor, and experience in the haulage industry. They will be responsible for maintaining regular communication with our operations team, registering containers via the VBS system, and ensuring Truckcom is up to date at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clearing, landing, and releasing containers
  • Maintaining communication with the operations team
  • Registering containers via the VBS system
  • Ensuring containers are within required weight allocation
  • Forwarding late runners and ancillary emails to customers
  • Monitoring waiting times in Truckcom and informing customers of demurrage charges
  • Managing the Operations inbox
  • Inputting new jobs and making amendments as necessary
  • Ensuring Truckcom is up to date at all times
  • Handling incoming calls in a professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Booking gensets accurately in good time
  • Arranging for off-dock storage and calculating costs accurately
  • Preparing and sending weekly rate sheets and uploading CMRs
  • Uploading customer communication into job history
  • Setting up new employees and ensuring relevant paperwork is received and saved
  • Processing new sub-contractor details and monitoring existing sub-contractor insurance expiration
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices through Verify
  • Processing supplier weekly and monthly payment runs
  • Maintaining vehicle maintenance and driver compliance
  • Providing cover for the accounts department
