MPOWIR Mentoring Physical Oceanography Women to Increase Retention is seeking highly qualified candidates for two postdoctoral positions in Physical Oceanography and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics.
Project OverviewThe project focuses on the role of internal waves in the ocean's energetics, examining stimulated loss of balance and the process of wind-forced near-inertial waves extracting kinetic energy from the balanced mesoscale flow.
Responsibilities- Derive and analyze simplified theoretical models
- Develop numerical code and conduct simulations
- Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues
Candidates should hold a PhD and have a strong background in fluid dynamics, with expertise in numerical modeling and publications in the field.
Expertise in oceanography or atmospheric sciences is desirable.
