Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the University of Edinburgh's Royal Dick School of Veterinary Services. The successful candidate will be working on a BBSRC-funded project focused on host-parasite interactions biology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments, as well as develop and optimize reagents and methods.
  • Analyze data and contribute to the publication of research findings in refereed papers, conference presentations, and seminars.
  • Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of molecular and computational biology techniques, as well as parasitology and genome engineering principles.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline, such as molecular biology, parasitology, computational biology, or a related field.
  • Experience in molecular biology methods, including sterile cell culture, cloning, and conducting functional assays.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or similar.
  • A strong track record of research outputs, commensurate with research experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to generate high-quality written reports in a timely manner.

Working Environment:

The successful candidate will be based at the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Services, working as part of a dynamic research team. The post is a fixed-term contract, with a full-time commitment of 35 hours per week.
