We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team at Heriot-Watt University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will have a strong experimental background in quantum photonics and be able to contribute to the development of high-brightness entangled photon sources for satellite uplink scenarios.

The primary goals of the project are to develop rugged high-quality entangled photon sources, uplink infrastructure for the Hub Optical Ground Station telescope, and conduct field tests and international quantum key distribution via HOGS to the Canadian QEYSSat satellite mission.

This is an excellent opportunity for a researcher to work on cutting-edge technology and publish high-impact scientific papers in the area of quantum light source development and intercontinental satellite quantum communication.

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 per annum, 33 days annual leave, plus 9 buildings closed days for all full-time staff, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
