About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in Edinburgh, Scotland. The successful candidate will be part of a research group focused on developing statistical tools for early diagnosis of liver cancer using patient serum biomarker data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop individualised threshold models using data from several available studies
  • Lead the development of statistical tools for early diagnosis of liver cancer
  • Work closely with Prof Ruth King and Dr Vanda Inacio de Carvalho (School of Mathematics) and Dr Tom Bird (Centre for Inflammation Research)

Requirements

  • PhD in Statistics or a related field
  • Excellent programming skills and research potential
  • Desirable knowledge includes Bayesian techniques, hidden Markov models, individual longitudinal models, regression techniques and survival analysis

What We Offer

Salary range £32,548 – £38,833, depending on experience. The successful candidate will also be expected to lead further research grant applications and engage with the research group by undertaking relevant teaching and tutoring duties.
