Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Food Security Early Action

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our team at the University of Edinburgh's Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems. The successful candidate will support research programmes on weather shocks, poverty, conflict, food insecurity, and anticipatory action in the drylands of Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on food security early action in pastoral systems, working closely with the Jameel Observatory team.
- Develop and implement research projects, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
- Collaborate with international partners and stakeholders to advance knowledge and practice in food security early action.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals, reports, and publications.
- PhD (or nearing completion) in a relevant field, such as social or natural sciences.
- Proven track record of achievement in food security early action, demonstrated through research publications, educational activities, and practical experience.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary research in the Global South, particularly in pastoral systems.
- Training in quantitative research methods and statistical analysis.
- A competitive salary of UE07 £40,247 - £47,874.
